Lab Operations Manager

We are seeking a full-time lab operations manager to implement digital lab management software and facilitate efficient coordination between teams. The Lab Operations Manager will report directly to the CTO.

Key Responsibilities

Internal R&D Management:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of internal experiment plans and data reports
  • Implement execution of planned experimental workflow
  • Organize workflow and facilitate coordination between inter department scientists
  • Implement task tracking software that fits with our workflow – Benchling
  • Record and update standard operating protocols
  • Generate biweekly data reports

Lab Management:

  • Equipment service maintenance, lab expansion planning, Equipment and Consumables purchasing
  • Prior experience in planning and execution of laboratory expansion is needed and a plus

Grant Management:

  • Scouting, Writing, Administrative reporting (timesheets, report updates, etc.)

Human Resources:

  • New hire onboarding, Performance check-ins, Handbook updating, OSHA compliance

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant science (chemistry, food, chemical engineering or a related pharmaceutical science). Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in lab operations management and digital software such as Benchling
  • Strong organization and meticulous documentation skill set
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • High emotional intelligence and well-developed conflict management skills
  • Strong personal commitment to professional development and eagerness to learn
  • Flexibility to assume a variety of roles
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Strong work ethic, diligence to follow through with tasks, and deliver tangible outcomes in a timely manner
