LumaCyte, LLC seeks a LabVIEW Software Developer to assist in the design, development, and support of all the company’s software.

LumaCyte, LLC is biotechnology instrumentation designer and manufacturer located in Charlottesville, Virginia. Our mission is to provide researchers with a transformational diagnostic tool that accelerates medical and pharmaceutical discoveries through novel single cell analysis and sorting. We provide hardware and software solutions that enable cell biologists, biomedical researchers, pharmaceutical, and other biotechnology companies to characterize, select, and sort cell samples.

Key Responsibilities

 

Core responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with other developers, engineers, and scientists to implement services and user interfaces
  • Fixing bugs and implementing feature requests
  • Writing and maintaining code

Job duties include: 

  • Assist in the design, development and support of all of the company’s software
  • Develop, debug, and test LabVIEW code for instrument control, and the acquisition, display, and analysis of single cell data collected using LumaCytes Radiance instrument
  • Use object-oriented programming in the graphical LabVIEW environment with a very organized structure employing discreet Virtual Instruments (Vis)
  • Develop algorithms for particle detection, tracking, and feature extraction that must be computationally efficient and robust
  • Program LabVIEW software to initiate and toggle hardware devices setting voltages for various electronic boards or devices to turn on/off or set values for proper operation. Actuation of various valves, pressure controllers, stepper motors, and/or other devices for instrument operation
  • Implement software features for enhanced user experience and improved
    performance
  • Continually test and fix software bugs on both upcoming releases and existing software releases
  • Modify code to be compliant with FDAs 21.CFR.Part 11 regulations for data integrity in pharmaceutical and biologics manufacturing
  • Develop algorithms and coding for a field programmable gate array (FPGA) for rapid data analysis or image processing

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a concentration in Technology or closely related field. Foreign degree equivalent acceptable
  • At least 5 years of experience in testing and validating instrumentation
  • Must be Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD)

Must have experience in the following:

  • Software: LabVIEW, LabVIEW RT, NI Vision, NI FPGA
  • Hardware: NI PXI, Data Acquisition modules
  • Equipment: Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer. Outside of LabVIEW – VEE, NI TestStand, TestComplete & VB
