We are ICARUS Medical Innovations, a rapidly growing biotech company on the Downtown Mall of Charlottesville, VA. We have designed, commercialized and now manufactured a new class of custom knee brace using cutting edge scanning and 3D printing technology, which has resulted in major pain relief and restored activity for our customers. We are seeking a talented and driven Product Manager to support our mission of providing Mobility Health

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product design efforts and milestones for new devices in development
  • Manage day-to-day progress of the engineering team using project management and other organizational tools and methods
  • Oversee day-to-day prototype production efforts by design engineers
  • Perform test procedures to verify and validate product quality and efficacy
  • Lead engineering team meetings
  • Contribute to technical writing, including grants, publications, and control documents
  • Collaborate with company leadership to develop monthly Engineering Department milestones and budgets
  • Analyze market opportunities for new ideas and products at multiple stages of development
  • Document all developments in scientific notebooks complete Engineering Change Orders (ECO) document and control processes and procedures
  • Mentor new engineering employees

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 3+ years of experience in Product Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Bioengineering
  • Prior experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Prior experience commercializing new products
  • Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
  • Experience building and implementing project management tools (Gantt charts, project management software, design control templates, etc)
  • Prior experience in a startup or high-growth company preferred
  • Prior experience in a medical device company preferred
