We have a role open now for a Program Manager to help run our first Defense Accelerator. We are actively interviewing and would like to have final decisions within the coming weeks. The position is full-time, working from our Norfolk office in-person. Remote options contingent upon completion of a 90-day probation period.

Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop a new Defense focused business accelerator, including but not limited to;
- Research on existing programs, potential partnerships, and funding opportunities
- Development of an accelerator program including training modules, potential trainers, advisors, and mentors, with emphasis on DoD needs and requirements
- Apply event planning expertise to execute multiple events per year in support of the Defense Accelerator and in support of other partnerships in our ecosystem
- Apply finance experience to manage an annual budget for programming, events, logistics, and technology expenditures
- Leverage personal relationships and professional networks to make introductions to the Navy as required for specific events
- Establish and lead new connections and build relationships with entrepreneurs, ESOs, community, and financial partners, both current and prospective
- Support other program managers and leadership in our ecosystem as needed to ensure the successful development and delivery of programs across our resources
- Support engagement and foster relationships with other innovation hubs, universities, investor groups, accelerators, and affinity organizations to drive high-quality and increased connectivity for all resources
- Develop a network and work with Congressional leadership to acquire funding
- Draft new program or grant proposals and budgets for Federal, State, and local agencies as needed by leadership
- Work occasional evenings to support program and ecosystem events
- Use tools such as Slack, Trello, Google Suite, Zoom, Notion, and others
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Working with the Defense Dept in any capacity
- Working with tech startups in any capacity
- Strong program management skills
- 5+ years of experience in the US DoD
- 3+ years experience in the startup ecosystem
- 3+ years experience in US Federal government acquisition programs
- 3+ years experience in project management
- 1+ years experience in Navy innovation organizations
