Project Coordinator

Center for Open Science

The Project Coordinators will be focused on assisting in the research agenda examining the landscape of current research practices, open science initiatives, and the attitudes, norms, behaviors, and incentives. Examples include open science badges, preregistration, advancing automated tools to assess confidence in research evidence, and administering the Open Scholarship Survey and surveys to assess researcher and editor perceptions of Registered Reports.

This role is responsible for supporting and implementing ongoing research projects and will work with other COS teams to understand current opportunities and to provide research insights to advance our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary
  • Evaluates potential problems and technical hitches and brings them to the attention of the project leader
  • Maintains timelines and deliverable expectations and makes sure information is shared back to relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinates with team members and external partners/collaborators to execute and keep workflow on track
  • Uses existing or implements new workflows and tracking systems to track project progress
  • Updates project-related documentation by ensuring all necessary materials are current and properly stored
  • Executes various tasks involved in the implementation of a project, such as organizing, scheduling, record-keeping, and gathering/organizing materials and data

  • An ability to quickly learn how to use the OSF, preregistration, and reproducible workflows a plus

Required Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in project coordination.
