Finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease remains one of the largest unmet needs in medicine today. Over 10 million patients globally and no approved therapies that slow or stop disease progression. PMT Biosciences was founded to change that.
The company is advancing a first-in-class, potentially disease-modifying therapeutic built on metabolic and cofactor-driven biology. This area has been long observed in non-controlled clinical settings, but never rigorously developed into a regulator-aligned therapeutic program. PMT’s approach transforms this biology into a scalable pharmaceutical candidate through proprietary fermentation, extraction, purification, and stabilization processes designed to preserve biologically active function.
This would not be an incremental improvement. It is a new therapeutic category with the potential to redefine treatment in Parkinson’s disease. PMT’s initial focus is Parkinson’s disease; however, the underlying biology has broader applicability across multiple neurodegenerative indications, including Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and traumatic brain injury (TBI).
