Under the general supervision of a Principal Scientist, the Lab Technician will assist in general laboratory functions of the R&D lab, supporting the biomanufacturing of healthy sugars: tagatose and allulose.
Key Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Culture E. coli for recombinant protein expression
- Purify proteins by various chromatographic techniques
- Characterize enzymes for purity, activity, stability, and other properties
- Day-to-day lab functions like equipment calibration, lab cleanliness, and organization, buffer, and media preparation
Experience and Qualifications
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or relevant discipline
- Meticulous lab notebook practice
- Understanding of laboratory safety and hygiene
- Excellent organization and time management for performing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to problem solve and trouble-shoot
- A desire to contribute to cutting-edge work in the field of nutrition and biotechnology
