Entrepreneur-in-Residence
Nikki Hastings is an operations biotech executive and entrepreneurial ecosystem builder with over 15 years of experience with early-stage biotech/medtech and medical device companies. She has held executive management roles at companies across multiple industry sectors including HemoShear Therapeutics, Contraline, and Cerillo. Dr. Hastings co-founded CvilleBioHub in 2016 and was the organization’s first executive director. Dr. Hastings is also Biotech Track Director in the UVA McIntire School of Commerce. She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia.

Dana Goldsmith has spent more than 25 years in business, high/med tech. She spent over a decade in Silicon Valley as part of 6 venture-backed startups, ranging in focus from enterprise ecommerce platform providers to SaaS and digital marketing. She was also Director of BD for the original Amazon Web Services team in Seattle. Dana expanded her focus to include the biotech industry in 2009 with the formation of Shoulder Innovations, a cutting edge medical device company specializing in shoulder arthroplasty. Dana’s range of expertise includes: business development, enterprise sales, business strategy, strategic partnerships, fundraising, online marketing, and executive management.

Andy Krouse is an experienced executive leader with a demonstrated history of working in the biotechnology industry. Strong business development professional skilled in Fundraising, Corporate Development, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Start-ups, and Strategic Planning. Andy is the CEO of two Seed Stage biopharma companies that he has spun out from the University of Virginia, Slate Bio and GenEp and he also participates as an EIR with UVA’s Licensing & Venture Group.
